摘要Abstract: The purpose of present study is to obtain an optimal processing parameter of home-made UV-curing-based roll-to-roll (R2R) system for
pattern transfer on a flexible substrate . The R2R system includes adjustable unwind/wind system, blade coater, force-control imprinting
system and UV lamp. In order to investigate the effects of imprinting pressure on pattern transfer, we can adjust the air pressure of
pneumatic cylinder. According to the imprinting results, the depth of cavity transferred by imprinting process was increased as the contact
pressure not exceeded 10 kg/m when the contact pressure exceeded 10 kg/m depth of cavity was no longer increased with pressure but
dropped instead. Although the diameter and pitch were almost identical with roller mold and the depth of cavity can be fully transferred by
a proper control of imprinting pressure, but the roughness and shape of microstructure still cannot be well transferred. Therefore, a good
pattern transfer by R2R processing depends on not only the parameter of imprinting pressure but also the other processing parameters such
as the rolling speed, the web tension and the dosage of UV curing, etc. In this study, our R2R system can provide a cost-effective
manufacturing platform for flexible electronics and optical applications. Furthermore, the flexibility of adjustable processing parameters
in our R2R system is another advantage for pattern transfer.
