摘要Abstract: Study Finds Plastic Debris and Manmade Fibers in Fish Sold in Markets.
Some scientists suspect that plastic trash eaten by marine species may be spreading through the food web. Plastic debris and textile fibers in the fish eaten by consumers were found by researchers in Indonesia and California. According to the fish sampled from local markets in different place, the variations in debris types may be influenced by the local waste management strategies. There are some concerns that the cocktail of dangerous chemicals related to plastic and some textile may have an impact on human’s body or health. But in the light of the researcher’s statement in this study, unless you eat a whole fish, the chance of ingesting plastic and fibers is very small.
The Forgotten Faroes
Denmark’s Faroe Island is an eighteen-hidden isles of remarkable nature and culture.
Faroes is known for breathtaking geography. Kallur lighthouse, Slaettaratindur which is the highest peak on the island, rock, land formations and archipelago’s largest lake are the famous spots in here.
Because of its tiny population, Faroes become a welcome place to migratory seabirds, people can spot these birds flying at night by taking the nighttime boat ride. Besides, people also can see other species of bird in Vestmanna bird cliffs, which is the perfect place to participate in the Faroes’ primary industry – fishing.
An ancient history also has developed on Faroes. A farmhouse opening sections to the public for viewing, and a church holding the gravestone of a Viking chief, both are the history of Faroes.
Most people tour the Faroes’ capital, Torshavn, named after Thor, Norse god of thunder, when they first visit these beautiful isles. Torshavn is one of the world’s smallest capitals, featuring many traditional house streets. With these amazing scenery, history, and culture turn Faroes into an unforgettable place.
