摘要Abstract: The science technology rapidly develops over the recent years. This especially spreads out the development of robotics. Table tennis robot is a representative technology that the robot can play table tennis. In order to reach the purposes, the system will be able to do a recognition about the player’s gesture, to sense a coming ball’s trajectory, to make a reasonable judgment about how to return the ball, and to realize a real time flexible striking. The paper is concerned with the gesture recognition of the stroke analysis for the control of table tennis robot based on a vision system and kinect gesture recognition. The vision system comprised of two cameras to track the ball’s position and speed. The player’s gesture was recognized by a kinect for windows. The joints of human skeleton were determined and translated to the human action recognition by our designed software in visual studio development environment. Further, the prediction of the ball’s position and speed was also determined by the software and then a six-axis robot arm was controlled to strike the ball back.
